I love traveling! It’s so exciting to go somewhere where no one knows you, and you can be 100% yourself.
You can eat what you want, go where you want and wear all the fun “tropic” Outfits. Which Is definitely one of my favorite parts, but, clothes now a days are quite pricy. It doesn’t make sense spending over $100 for an outfit your only going to wear for one week. That is why I find my vacation clothes from thrift stores, Vintage stores, and sale sections.
This whole outfit i’m wearing is from thrift stores/yard sales. And honestly the majority of my “tropical vacation wardrobe” is from one of the places listed above.
I found these shorts maybe 5 years ago at a yard sale for only 50 cents! The top and the sandals I purchased from a big second hand charity sale, both for under $10! This top was such a great find because as you may know gingham is and will be a great trend gong into S/S So this outfit only costed me around $11. Crazy Right!
“How do I find these amazing deals” you might ask?
Around fall/winter time almost every clothing store has an overflowing sale section packed with summer clothes, shoes, and accessories. All at amazing prices. So, its the perfect way to build up your ideal vacation wardrobe. You can pick and chose items that you love without spending a fortune. Also hit up your local vintage store. They always have unique summer clothes that are great quality and decently priced. I always opt to vintage stores because then your collection will be different from everyone else’s!
The Best place to find sales:
Online sales
Check out your favorite online shopping store in their sale section and also if you’re on their email list you can see when they have sales on their sales. ( Extra savings Woohoo!)
Instore Sale
First of all have a vision of the items you need, weather shopping at a high end store, thrift store, yard sale, Poshmark, or even craigslist. Figure out your vision for your tropical wardrobe. What kind of hat, beach towel, swim suit, sun dress, beach bag you want and be dedicated to get only that! Be open to better possibility’s but don’t settle!
Then the first thing you do when you walk into a store… walk very fast to the back of the store where the sale section is. Don’t look to the right or the left just keep on walking! And take the time to dig through the piles, try on things even if you don’t think it will fit/look right, and have the ability to say no.
If you go into a store and like ” Oh imma find sales, get things for dirt cheep and have this huge vacation wardrobe” your going to walk away with a ton of stuff you don’t actually love. You don’t want that! my “vacation wardrobe” can literally fit in a carryon suitcase. And thats all I need. I love every piece and almost every piece I can mix and match with each other. That is what makes it work. Only having the items that you truly love and truly love how it looks on you.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and found it helpful!
